Panic attacks — we all have them “My bookings are down.” “I’ve gotta cut my prices.” “I’ve gotta slash my costs.” We all have anxiety attacks, so maybe this chapter’s for you. Anxiety is worrying in advance, worrying without a plan, psychological rather than rational. And the actions you take while you’ve got the cold sweats could affect your business for a long, long To View More >>

As we reach our last workday before closing for the holidays we want to send you very sincere thanks for your support over the last year. While the pandemic itself is largely behind us — at least in the sense that people are generally back to “business as usual” — for much of the world the social and economic “hangover” is still with us. Some in our own industry are among those still feeling the after-effects, and our thoughts will be with them this Christmas. But overall our community continues to inspire us with its resilience in adapting successfully to a To View More >>

Still working on getting albums approved six, nine, twelve months down the line? This will be eating into your time and your profit. Here are some simple ways to get albums approved quickly, while adding value for your client and offering them a great experience. 1. Get in quick! There's before the shoot and there's after the shoot. Before, they're looking at your products (yeah, nice!) and photos of … other people. Afterwards they have your photos of them to fall in love with — and they will. But get in quick! — before the emotion of the To View More >>

Talk about wedding envy! The Queensberry team are practically swooning over Helen and Michael's gorgeous album by Ellie Gillard. Every detail of the day is highlighted beautifully, and given the attention it deserves.   Helen & Mikey (as he’s known to Helen) got married at Trinity Buoy Wharf  in the Docklands. It's one of Ellie's favourite venues in London, both urban and epic. Treated to one of the first hot days of 2016, the wedding party, and Ellie, cruised down the Thames to the reception, drinking prosecco on an ever-so-slightly 70s party boat, before feasting, To View More >>

There are — how many? — a million professional photographers around the world? All competing for customers who are happily uploading their own pictures to the internet by the billion every day! How do you stand out in that crowd? How do you earn a living? By being a better photographer, yes. By knowing what your clients want before they do, absolutely. And by thinking differently and acting differently. By being a price setter not a price taker. By leading the crowd, not joining it. Unfortunately the world is heading in the opposite direction. Giant labs. Huge hosting sites. Software To View More >>

If you're a regular user you’ll have noticed big changes to Workspace over the last few weeks. We introduced a stack of functional changes, especially to the album set-up and client website pages, but also... 1. We've improved the navigation, so the important stuff is easier to find. We're hoping the BUY and SELL tabs help direct you to the most important functions in Workspace for many people — ordering from Queensberry, and setting up a shopping cart to make your own sales. Alongside are direct links to your image galleries, your book and album designs, and your website, To View More >>

What a difference two weeks make. Before the holidays the word of the day was over. Over Work. Over Shopping. Over Eating! Rested and restored the world looks a different place, and the word of the day is new. New Year. New Treasure Box. New Packaging. New Covers. New Books. New Pages. We’re welcoming 2015 with our most comprehensive product update in ages. And if you’re going to SWPP in London you'll be first to see them — Stephen and Sonya are looking forward to catching up. We'll have more about products and prices in just a few days, but meantime, what did we learn from To View More >>

With splashes of pastel blue and a seriously gorgeous location, Ashley and Daniel’s California wedding is definitely one to swoon over. Ashley wanted "... the whole day to have a light, carefree atmosphere despite the seriousness of the occasion. Our color schemes, food and drink selections, and seating arrangements around the dance floor all helped achieved this." Their day was captured by Sylvie (from Sylvie Gil Photography) who is based in California, USA. A Futura translucent title page. Ashley is glowing in her  Anna Maier dress! The wedding was held at Annadel Estate To View More >>

Yesterday we introduced you to our Good Better Best product matrix, designed to help you navigate our products and services. We designed our new price lists, which you can download here, to match. Maybe the best thing about them is that they're SIMPLE. The prices for each range of products fit comfortably on a single page. No jokes, please, but that’s a step forward! How did we do that? More than 95% of you now order our albums and books in Photojunction, printed and fully assembled, so that's what the price list assumes you're doing. If you're interested in DIY, contact us and we'll send you To View More >>

There's been a LOT of interest generated by the new Workspace mobile app, so I thought I'd remind you how easy Workspace sharing is. Next time I'll suggest the best place to share. Let's assume you've uploaded some images and now you're in Workspace looking at the image collection you want to share... (Click the screenshots to view them full-size)... 1. Click the big blue SHARE button to open the sharing pop-up window. You should explore the other options but the window opens to "auto" (my favourite - see below) where you can set up automatic sharing to Facebook profiles and pages, Twitter and/or To View More >>
